Images in front of and behind the camera
Despite being an amateur photographer, I love to get behind the camera and photograph horses.
Having worked in close proximity to animals all my life, I have a pretty good knack for capturing the right moment at the right time. Below are some of the shots I took while reporting stories around the world.
I much prefer being behind the camera rather than in front of it, but I have worked as a model for some of the world's best equine photographers (Christiane Slawik etc). Those images have been used for calendars, posters and advertising - and even made the front cover of one of Mark Rashid's books.
My experience in front of the camera has given me a strong understanding of the unique challenges involved with organising photoshoots and filming video footage with people and horses, and the experience has helped me with my own photography and content creation.
